Renewal

Registration with PEICOT must be renewed annually. The registration year is from April 1 to March 31.

To begin the renewal process, log into the HMS, and:

  1. Update the following information if necessary:
    1. Basic and contact information
    2. Education information
    3. Employment information
    4. History section (miscellaneous tab in your member profile)
  2. Update the following documents as necessary:
    1. Certificate of professional liability insurance — UPDATED YEARLY (miscellaneous tab in your member profile)
    2. Criminal record screening document — UPDATED EVERY 5 YEARS (miscellaneous tab in your member profile).
  3. Complete and sign the legal statement.
  4. Update continuing education hours and upload supporting documents for approval to meet CE requirement (continued education section in your HMS account).
  5. Update your practice (currency) hours to meet the professional currency requirement (practice hours section in your HMS account).
  6. Complete and upload quality assurance documents to meet the quality assurance requirement — two (2) professional learning goals and two (2) completed learning activities (quality assurance section in your HMS account).
  7. Pay the renewal fee. (Fee schedule).
    The PEICOT Registrar will examine your information and acknowledge your payment. If everything is in order, you will receive an email notification to inform you that your registration renewal is complete.
  8. Find your renewed registration certificate and the official payment receipt under payment history in your profile. Print your certificate for your records or display.

If you have changed your legal name since your registration or last renewal you will be asked to provide proof of name change (marriage certificate, for example) and update the photo ID document in your profile.

Reinstatement of general registration

If you do not renew your registration by March 31, you must apply for reinstatement. Reinstatement is available for three years following the date of the registration lapse. A reinstatement fee is required in addition to the registration fee.

To be considered for reinstatement by the PEICOT Registrar, follow these steps:

  1. Contact the registrar to express your interest to be reinstated.
  2. Log into the HMS, and complete the steps 1-7 of the renewal process.
  3. Pay the reinstatement fee.
  4. Pay the registration fee.
    The PEICOT Registrar will examine your information and acknowledge your payment. If everything is in order you will receive an email notification to inform you that your registration reinstatement is complete.
  5. Find your renewed registration certificate and the official payment receipt under payment history in your profile. Print your certificate for your records or display.
