Registering with the PEI Occupational Therapists Registration Board
The Prince Edward Island Occupational Therapists Registration Board is the governing body responsible for regulating the practice of occupational therapy in Prince Edward Island. Occupational therapists MUST be registered with the Board in order to legally practice and use the title "occupational therapist" or "OT" in Prince Edward Island. Failure to register is an offence and can result in disciplinary action and/or fines.
The Board differs from professional associations or interest groups, which are voluntary and serve the interests of professionals. Our mandate is to protect the public interest by setting standards for practice and establishing programs to ensure occupational therapists practice safely and competently. We also investigate any reports or concerns about the practice of occupational therapists in Prince Edward Island.
