What is the Prince Edward Island Occupational Therapists Registration Board?The Prince Edward Island Occupational Therapists Registration Board is a governing body responsible for regulating the practice of occupational therapy in P.E.I. It is responsible for ensuring the safe, ethical, and competent practice of occupational therapy in P.E.I. All occupational therapists who practice in P.E.I. must be registered members of the Board. It is illegal to use the title "occupational therapist" without registration in the Board. The Board’s mandate is to protect public interest by reviewing all applicants for registration on PEI, prescribing continuing competency requirements for it’s members, setting standards of practice, and investigating concerns raised about a registrant’s practice. The Board operates under the P.E.I. Occupational Therapy Act & Regulations. Current Board Members:The Prince Edward Island Occupational Therapists Registration Board is governed by a six-member board. The Board is responsible for ensuring their mandate is fulfilled as set out in the P.E.I. Occupational Therapy Act & Regulations and bylaws. One Board member is a public representative appointed by the provincial government. The five other Board members are occupational therapists. The Board could not operate without the dedicated support of it’s members. Current members include:
