Who We Are
The Prince Edward Occupational Therapists Registration Board is a governing body responsible for regulating the practice of occupational therapy in Prince Edward Island. It is responsible for ensuring the safe, ethical, and competent practice of occupational therapy. All occupational therapists who practice in Prince Edward Island must be registered members of the Board.
Board members, appointed by the provincial government, currently consist of a representative of the public and four occupational therapists who are responsible for ensuring the mandate set out in the PEI Occupational Therapy Act, Regulations and bylaws are fulfilled.
Our work involves:
- Registering qualified occupational therapists
- Responding fairly to practice concerns
- Supporting and monitoring quality practice
The purpose of the Registration Board is to protect the public's right to quality Occupational Therapy service in Prince Edward Island.
The Board is a member of the Association of Canadian Occupational Therapy Regulatory Organizations Inc. (ACOTRO).
